Airbrushing with pearlescent acrylic ink

Airbrushing with pearlescent acrylic ink

Our acrylic ink combines the best properties of ink with the benefits of acrylic paint – the ultra-fluid, vibrant colors don’t fade and dry quickly with a permanent finish.

Airbrushing with acrylic ink

Amsterdam acrylic ink is perfectly suited for use with an airbrush. The ink-like acrylic paint is so watery that you can use it straight out of the bottle, but if you prefer your paint a little bit thinner you can add a few drops of water.

Amsterdam inks have been tested with a 0.2 mm needle. The pigments in the white and metallic colors are a bit larger, so we recommend a 0.4 mm needle for those colors to prevent clogging.

In the video below, you can see how mixing a pearlescent color with a similar regular color creates a nice metallic effect. Colors with a pearlescent finish add extra definition to your artwork when applied on dark surfaces.
